Fusion Assets is delighted to announce the appointment of Muir Group to deliver the next building at Link Park, Newhouse, on the last remaining plot of land. The final phase of development will be a speculative 19,000 sqft industrial unit that will be net zero carbon enabled.
The new building will incorporate a wide range of energy saving features to ensure that the new development will be sustainable. This includes solar PV panels on the roof, enhanced insulation panels and cladding, low energy LED lighting, EV charging points and the ability to introduce a heat recovery system in place of a gas connection. This will allow Muir Construction to deliver a high-quality industrial building with an anticipated EPC A rating. As part of the construction contract a community benefits clause has also been incorporated.
Link Park was formally a derelict brownfield site which has benefited from financial support from North Lanarkshire Council and the Scottish Government’s Vacant and Derelict Land Fund to allow Fusion Assets to carry out a programme on enabling works as part of the development. The site is home to a number of major companies including Swagelok, Apleona and Yunex who have all decided to locate in Link Park at Newhouse, just off the M8.
The new building is due for completion by the end of the year and once again Iain Davidson of Colliers will be acting as the letting agent on behalf of Fusion Assets Ltd.
