Lanarkshire Enterprise Park becomes AI growth zone

Following the UK Government’s announcement last week, Fusion Assets former development site at York Road, Chapelhall is now part of the Lanarkshire AI Growth Zone. The site was sold in December 2025 to HFD and DataVita. Following the granting of planning permission earlier this month Lanarkshire Enterprise Park will now be used to extend the adjacent primary substation and build a new 100,000 sqft data centre as part of the AI Growth Zone.

For those with a long memory, the site originally formed part of the Dunalastair Enterprise Zone in the 1990’s before being added to the Scottish Governments Life Science Enterprise Area in 2016. Under its latest designation as a AI Growth Zone, the site, which has been remediated and serviced by Fusion Assets, will be developed out as part of the data centre campus and innovation park being promoted in North Lanarkshire by DataVita in partnership with CoreWeave. The overall project is intended to create some 3,500 jobs and bring £8.2 billion of private sector investment as well as establishing a £543m Community Investment Fund.
