Fusion Assets is delighted to announce the appointment of Muir Construction to deliver its new flagship industrial building at Link Park, Newhouse, just of the M8. The next phase of development will be a speculative 16,000 sqft industrial unit that will be net zero carbon enabled.
The new building will incorporate a wide range of energy saving features to ensure that the new development will be sustainable. This includes solar PV panels on the roof, enhanced insulation panels and cladding, low energy LED lighting, EV charging points and the ability to introduce a heat recovery system in place of a gas connection. This will allow Muir Construction to deliver a high-quality industrial building with an anticipated A EPC rating on behalf of Fusion Assets.
As part of the construction contract a community benefits clause has also been incorporated which will see local school children and students from New College Lanarkshire gain work experience on site.
The building is due for completion by the end of the year. Link Park was formally a derelict brownfield site which has benefited from financial support from the Scottish Government’s North Lanarkshire Vacant and Derelict Land Fund to allow Fusion Assets to carry out a programme on enabling works to prepare the site for development. It is already home to Swagelok, Apleona, Halfords Autocentres and the soon to be completed dekit facility for the Co-Op Group.
