Fusion Assets are delighted to announce the appointment of Ronnie Smith as its new Chairman. Ronnie has been the Chief Executive of Lanarkshire Enterprise Services Ltd (LESL) since the company was set up in 2002 and is probably best known for its role in delivering the Business Gateway services in Lanarkshire.
Previously, Ronnie was Managing Director of Hamilton Enterprise Development Company for 10 years and before that served in Local Government for over 12 years, latterly as Head of Economic Development at East Kilbride District Council. Prior to that he worked in the construction sector and ran his own business.
A graduate of both Glasgow School of Art and The University of Stirling, he was a founder member of The Lanarkshire Chamber of Commerce. Ronnie also serves currently on the Board of New College Lanarkshire and is Chairman of the Hamilton International Sports Trust. He holds several other board positions as a non executive director.
Ronnie replaces Iain Carmichael who stood down earlier this year after being Chairman of the company since 2010 when Fusion Assets was reactivated.
